Do stock trading bots actually work? Some do. A lot of them are scams. And from the outside, they can look exactly the same.
I run a trading algorithm, so I have every reason to tell you this industry is great. It isn’t. There are a lot of bad actors in it. So I’m going to give you seven red flags. If you see even one of them, walk away. And I’ll show you how we handle every single one, so you can hold us to the same standard.
Walk away if you see these
Red flag number one: they hold your money. If you have to wire money to the company, or into some account they control, stop. A real trading algorithm connects to your own account at a real broker. The money stays in your name.
Red flag number two: guaranteed returns. Two percent a week, ten percent a month, “you can’t lose.” Nobody can promise returns in the stock market. Anyone who does is either lying or doesn’t understand risk. Both are bad.
Red flag number three: screenshots only. A screenshot of a big green day proves nothing. You want a trade-by-trade record, every entry and every exit, losers included, that you can check yourself.
Red flag number four: an offshore broker you’ve never heard of. If they need you to open an account at some broker in a country you can’t find on a map, that’s usually so nobody can regulate them. Stick with large, well-known, regulated brokers.

Red flag number five: “secret AI.” If you ask what it buys and why, and the answer is “it’s proprietary AI, we can’t say,” walk away. You should be able to understand the basic rules of anything that trades your money.
Red flag number six: pressure to decide right now. “Only three spots left.” “The price goes up at midnight.” Good decisions about your money don’t need a countdown timer.
Red flag number seven: no real people. No names, no faces, no company you can look up, no way to get someone on a call. If you can’t find out who’s behind it, assume there’s a reason.
How Strike answers all seven
So here’s how we answer all seven. And I want you to check every one of these, not just take my word for it.
Your money stays in your own Interactive Brokers account, in your name. We don’t hold it.
No guarantees. In fact, we put our worst month right on the website. July 2026, down 22.1 percent.
No screenshots-only. There are 2,239 trades on the record, every one listed, losers included.
A large U.S.-regulated broker, not an offshore shop.
No secret AI. The momentum rules are published, and I’ve got a whole video walking through them.
No pressure. You book a call when you’re ready, and if it’s not a fit, it’s not a fit.
And real people. You can see our team, our live events, and the company behind it, Capital B28.
Check us against the list.
So, do trading bots work? Some do, a lot don’t, and the seven red flags will filter out most of the bad ones. They hold your money, they guarantee returns, they only show screenshots, they use an offshore broker, they hide behind secret AI, they pressure you, or there are no real people behind it.
Use that list on anyone, including us. Go to strikealgo.net, look at the full record, and if you want to talk it through, book a call.
Why this matters if you’re considering Strike
We built Strike to pass every one of these checks, because we’ve seen the damage bad actors do in this space. Bring the list to a call. Ask about custody, verification, fees and who’s behind it. A real person will answer every one.
